Skills for Smoother Trade: BFTI Certifies Professionals in Tax, VAT and Custom Duty

Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) organized a certificate awarding ceremony for the 3-day long training course titled ‘Understanding Tax, VAT & Customs Duty for Trade’ on 07 October 2026 at BFTI Academic Block.

Dr. Mostofa Abid Khan, Chief Executive Officer of BFTI, chaired the closing ceremony. In his remarks, he emphasized that a sound understanding of Tax, VAT and custom duty is essential for facilitating trade as Bangladesh prepares for graduation from LDC status. He noted that pragmatic knowledge about taxation issues helps professionals navigate regulatory requirements more effectively and supports smoother trade operations. He asked participants to apply this training knowledge in their organizations and share it with colleagues and business partners.

Professionals from a range of public and private organizations took part in the program. Participants represented the SME Foundation, Jamuna Bank PLC, Bangladesh Competition Commission, DBL Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Delta Pharma, One Pharma Ltd., Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Hanay FoodsPro Ltd. and Udayon Engineering.

At the end of the ceremony, certificates were awarded to the participants in recognition of their successful completion of the training course.
