Challenges of sanitary and phytosanitary measures (SPS) in export competitiveness of Bangladesh BFTI organized a validation workshop of the study titled ‘Challenges of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS) of Export Competitiveness in Bangladesh' on 09 June 2024

Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) has conducted a study on ‘Challenges of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS) in Export Competitiveness of Bangladesh'. The primary objective of the study is to identify the challenges of SPS of export competitiveness of Bangladesh. As per the requirements of the study, a validation workshop was held on 09 June 2024 in the Conference Room of BFTI. The study recommends for introducing One Stop Service (OSS) of certification authority of SPS, upgrading testing facilities and standards, Mutual Recognition of Standards. It also recommends forming a national single coordination body regarding SPS issues under WTO Wing, Ministry of Commerce, which may include representatives from respective ministries, SPS related government agencies, private sectors, and business associations.
